BAVO Newsletter
Busy times are upon us at UGD, we have been working on various project for the private and public sector all wanting our experience and expertise to develop their publications to stand out in the crowd.
One of the companies that we have been working with is BAVO, the brief set for this job was to develop a newsletter that would deliver a ‘support’ message to the readers and will reflect each season throughout the year, as you can see this edition is spring!
BAVO is a membership organisation with membership open to all voluntary and community groups working or based in Bridgend County Borough. They are a registered charity managed by an executive committee elected from our membership.

Below is some information about the project and the leaflet that we have produced for them, let us know what you think!
The Siaradwn Ni – Let’s Talk project is a 5 year, Big Lottery project, funded to help reduce suicide and mental health stigma across Bridgend and Neath Port Talbot County Boroughs.
Siaradwn Ni – Let’s Talk aims to promote positive mental wellbeing, reduce barriers to accessing support, provide training and support people who might be affected by mental health issues such as depression, anxiety or self-harm.
We look forward to working on future projects with BAVO!
Seren Foundation
It has been our pleasure to spend some time working on this poster along with some other publicity material to help support the Seren Foundation!
Please take the time to read through the text below which was written by Seren’s parents or follow the link below for further information.
http://serenfoundation.me.uk/ships/
The Seren Foundation has been set up in memory of our daughter Seren Louise Bevan who suffered from hypoxia at birth and pased away at just four days old. During her short life she was cared for at the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at Singleton Hospital, Swansea. The doctors, nurses and staff at the unit gave outstanding care not only to Seren but to us as parents, providing support during this traumatic time.
The NICU have a charity called S.H.I.P.S (Singleton Hospital Infant Parent Support) registered charity number: 1050866. This charity helps with the running of the unit providing those little extra which make it all a little easier such as baby blankets, baby grows and toiletries for the babies. Within the unit they also have rooms where parents can stay to be closer to their children S.H.I.P.S also assists in making these rooms as comfortable as possible so parents can enjoy the precious time they have with their babies.
The Seren Foundation aims to raise money for S.H.I.P.S in order to help and support other babies and parents like we were supported during the traumatic but precious time that we spent with our daughter.
Mr Macqueen – Vehicle wrap
Below is a vehicle wrap we have been working on for Nathaniel Cars. Ant has developed this design from one of our favorite characters “Lighting Macqueen”. The aim was to create a bigger and bolder version of lighting, an ‘older brother’ kind of character who we like to call Mr Macqueen.
The vehicle will hopefully be on display by next week at Nathaniel Cars.
Another amazing job guys!!!!!!!!
February Fun!!!!!
Since the first of February we have been setting daily challenges to our followers. They have been a range of challenges from dropping worlds into a conversation, naming your favorite biscuit to showing us your silliest socks!
Below are some of the responses we have had back from you!
Sean “Lionel Richie” , Graham “Crumbs that’s an assorted challenge, not sure i can digest that”, Lesley “love any biscuits”
Keith “got green posts do they count”?
To make more sense of these or to take part follow us on face book!
Pre-VENT 14-19
Examples of work that we have been working on for a local organisation Pre-VENT. These leaflets are the first stages in launching the project and UGD are looking forward to developing further publications for Pre-VENT.
Pre-VENT 14-19 is a European funded project aimed at raising skills levels and self-confidence of 14-19 year old learners.
The project operates across five areas of South East Wales – Bridgend, Blaenau Gwent, Caerphilly, Merthyr Tydfil and Torfaen.
Comments from fans of UGD, Claire Perrett “Looks so effective” Do you have a comment, if so contact us!
Sample leaflets created by UGD!!
Here are some of the designs we created on leaflets recently!
DL leaflets are one of the great ways to help you to advertise your company and are used as a great marketing tool!
The first of the leaflets below is for Future Asset Management, based in Bridgend this company can offer you financial advice for your business.
The second leaflet was designed for Bridgend’s Coast Project. The aim of the coastal Project is to promote employment and training opportunities for individuals experiencing serious illness, disability and/or social disadvantage.
Finally another local company who are regular clients at UGD are Riverside, who provide consultancy, planning and design, to manufacture, installation and maintenance.
All three very different companies with very different needs!
Happy Clients!!!
We were kept busy in the run up to Christmas with Bridgend Business Forum lunch. Richard used his flare to create this brilliant programme for the days events. As sponsors of the event the boys were really pleased with great feedback on the quality of the publications, and of course Mr Go Compare!!!!
Alongside of that the boys have been working on The Grand Pavilion spring brochure. As regular clients of UGD this is just one of the stunning eye catching brochures created to publicise all up coming events at the pavilion. For further details check out the pavilion website.
